CHRIST THE MEDIATOR

CTM LOGO.png

The surrealist Jesus in the cross lean down and up at the same time is the closest to a full picture of mediation. He is joining the lost to salvation by being involved and present and also making the Father present in the lost position and the lost present in the Fathers present. As mediator he has three roles, advocate (pleading for us and being our presence with the father and also pleading for us) and saviour (he has come out of the same pit and is the 'way to the father'). Thirdly, he becomes the 'rescuer' when we place our position in his hands. We are to hold onto him and place all we are in his hands. He is the mediator, present yesterday, always inclining towards us today, and, our ever pleading with the Father. (Matthew 28:20b & 1 Timothy 2:5)

CHRIST THE GOOD SHEPHERD

CTGS LOGO.png

The picture with the lamb on Jesus's Shepherds shoulder is also The Good Shepherd but hermeneutically also includes mediation in that the Shepherd knows the situation of his sheep and is actively involved in the situation - present in their journey. Joins his purpose to theirs and speaks of purpose and sure outcome. (John 10:11)
